Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and music producer. Sara Ramirez was raised by her American mother and encountered a number of racial slurs that caused her to feel uncomfortable. It was in her ninth grade that she gained confidence following her acclaim during an audition. The singer not only gained confidence through the audition, but she also changed career goals. She graduated at the age of 22 with a degree from the Julliard School in New York. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. The role in The Lady of The Lake is her most memorable breakthrough, bringing an award for her performance, an award called the Tony Award in addition to critical acclaim for her role. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC, she gained greater recognition. As a well-known singer, she has also released a single as well as an extended play. She is also an activist and works extensively to promote LGBT rights.
